In the early 1920's worldwide pocket watch manufacture and sales were on the decline, it was then that three young brothers saw an opportunity to begin a wristwatch company, to produce moderately priced watches for the common-man, BENRUS. Benrus Watch Company, an American company, founded in New York City in 1921 by three brothers: Oscar, Benjamin and Ralph; Romanian immigrants. The name "BENRUS" was a combination of Benjamin Lazrus first and last names. Hence "BEN"jamin laz"RUS".

From the 1950's, still preserve in time, this is a very nice timepiece, a Benrus wristwatch. It is a manual wind watch with an original Benrus Watch Co. movement model BA2, 17 jewels, sub second hand, Swiss made.
 
Cased in 25.6mm square case and fancy lugs desing. 10K Rolled gold plated bezel and stainless steel back.
 
It still has the original champagne dial with gold Arabic Numerals, gold hour markers and gold matching hands. The sub second is located at 6 showing a very nice and textured sub dial. The dial is signed with the Benrus name on top. It has a fancy crystal shape (with small scratches) in good condition.
 
The watch is coming with a brand new black alligator two-pieces leather strap. The strap is signed "Genuine Leather" and "Waterproof" as well.

This wristwatch is a very attractive looking wristwatch, runs very well and keep great time!

We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
