Beauty and brawn combine in this 1958 Swiss-made Bulova Royal Clipper automatic wristwatch! The 1957 Bulova movement 11ACAC with 17 jewels runs great! This watch also looks great! The silvered champagne-colored dial has a subtle hourglass effect that displays nicely when the light hits it just right. The lightly patinaed dial also features luminous gold hands, Arabic numerals and dagger indices. The dial has a central second hand and is marked "Bulova" and "Selfwinding". The original crown is marked BULOVA.
This wristwatch is as tough as it is handsome. The bezel and fancy lugs are 10K rolled gold plate in nice condition. The stainless steel case is shock resistant, anti-magnetic, and waterproof. The mainspring was advertised as an unbreakable mainspring, and the crystal is new.
The 31mm diameter wristwatch is completed with a new-old stock 16mm two-piece brown leather strap with a gold-toned buckle.
At 65 years old, this vintage timepiece has proven itself as a dependable, attractive wrist-companion, and will undoubtedly continue as such for generations. Of course, one can retire it to a personal collection. You decide.
