In 1948 Hamilton introduced the first of several new watch models in the CLD line. CLD phonetically spells out ‘sealed’ and the CLD models featured a series of gaskets that brought environmental protection of a watch to a whole new level, sealed against moisture and dirt. A classic dress watch with a simple and elegant design, this is a vintage Hamilton Langdon wristwatch dated from 1948. The Langdon is one of the first CLD models introduced by Hamilton.
This is a manual winding watch powered by the original U.S.A.-made Hamilton movement, the 8/0 size, caliber grade 747 with 17 jewels, sub-second, and adjusted.
This wristwatch features the original sterling silver dial showing some age and featuring gold-applied Arabic numerals and dot hour markers with gold matching hands. The sub-second is located at 6 o’clock and the dial is signed Hamilton. In lovely condition, this watch is cased in a 29.3mm round shape case in 10K yellow gold fill.
It comes on a beautiful new, brown, two-piece leather strap with a gold buckle.
