BURLINGTON WATCH Co. 

Based in Chicago, Illinois, the Burlington Watch Co. operated as a mail-order sales company from 1869 to 1948. Most Burlington watches featured "privately labeled" movements produced under contract by the Illinois Watch Company, effectively making them Illinois watches. 

Initially, Burlington predominantly offered 16-size, 19-jewel movements based on the Illinois Model 5 and Model 9. Many of these were designated as "Burlington Special" on the dial rather than on the movement itself, a noteworthy detail. By 1917, the 19-jewel watches were phased out in favor of a comprehensive line of 21-jewel timepieces meticulously adjusted for temperature and positions. 

While some believe that Burlington was a subsidiary of the Illinois Watch Company, this has not been verified.

Burlington also offered a limited selection of movements from Henry Moser & Co. in Switzerland, potentially exclusive to Canada and housed in Canadian-made cases. In the United States, the majority of Burlington watches were sold in high-quality, Burlington-branded gold-filled cases.

This is vintage and very well-preserved timepiece! It is a vintage Burlington Special hunter case pocket watch dated from 1912.  
 
It is a manual-wind pocket watch featuring an original Burlington Watch Co. movement grade 274, model 2, 19 jewels, 12s, adjusted, sub-second, made in Chicago, IL. 
 
Original white porcelain dial adorned with black Arabic Numerals, a "railroad" minute track featuring red numerals every 5 minutes and matching blue steel hands. The sub-second is positioned at 6 o’clock position and the dial is signed with "Burlington Special" on top. 
 
Cased in a 47.5mm round hunter case with engraved decorations on it and double hinged back (cuvette), all in 10K yellow gold filled. 

It comes with a pocket watch chain 7" long with fog.

After 110 years, this pocket watch is a perfect collector's item, it is in lovely condition! Runs very well, keeps good time!

This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust the lighting, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.  

The condition is pre-owned.   
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
